About the Supplier

Dutch stroopwafels, handmade with local ingredients in South Africa. We produce handmade stroopwafels with all local ingredients in Humansdorp. This delicious treat originated in the Netherlands but has gained worldwide fame. Everyone loves that crunchy exterior with the lovely syrup on the inside, that almost trickles out when you heat it above your cup of coffee or tea. No part of the cookie gets left behind in the process. The crumbs can be used as cake bases or as cake or ice cream toppings. The syrup can be incorporated into ice cream. We also produce specialised stroopwafels dipped in chocolate as well as our new krummel cookie. These can be given as delicious thank you gifts for your guest with your own sticker on. These stroopwafels are handmade by youth who are battling setback in their lives due to learning or mental disabilities, which gives them a distance to the labour market. At Soete Swaan, we provide a safe and supportive workplace for young adults who face challenges in the traditional labor market or education system. After completing training at our partner Victory4All Foundation Non Profit Organisations Rainbow Skill center, some graduates have the opportunity to enter into the labour market by getting employed at Soete Swaan.
